Support Survivors of Sexual Violence (Healing): Restoring Hope Through Psycho-social Care
The 2015 Uganda Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) revealed a stark reality: 25.4% of girls aged 13-17 have experienced sexual abuse. The consequences of this abuse are devastating, with many survivors facing severe depression, stigma, and trauma. These challenges often lead to a higher prevalence of suicidal thoughts, making it urgent to address their emotional and mental well-being.
At the Kaleke Kasome Foundation (KAKAF), we are dedicated to providing holistic support to survivors of sexual violence. Our focus is on offering psychosocial support—a vital coping mechanism that helps children rebuild their confidence, process their experiences, and develop the courage to resist and speak out against acts of sexual violence. This support is instrumental in breaking the silence and reducing the stigma that often isolates survivors.
Together, we can restore hope to these young survivors, helping them regain their sense of worth and paving the way for a brighter future. Your generosity will not only provide immediate relief but also contribute to breaking the cycle of abuse in our communities.
Join us in this mission. A small act of kindness can create a ripple effect of healing, empowerment, and change.
